Frequently asked questions
Do I need to have funds to start? If so, how much?
Yes, a deposit is required, and you determine the amount yourself. It is necessary to carry out transactions because it serves as your security and working capital in the system. For example, if you want to serve customers exchanging cryptocurrencies for PLN 5,000, your deposit must be high enough to enable such a transaction.
Does the account have to be verified to start working?
Within the EEA, every person must undergo KYC verification.
What about commissions?
Kanga charges a fixed network fee of 1% on each transaction. However, it is worth remembering that we occasionally offer discount codes for this fee, which can be found on our social media. We encourage you to follow our channels so that you don't miss any promotions.
What does marketing support look like and do I have to mark my location?
As our agency partner, you receive full marketing support, although formal marking of your location is not mandatory. We provide a package of promotional materials (stickers, leaflets, gadgets) and actively promote your location on the Kanga Kantor website and on our social media. In addition, we offer assistance in setting up a professional Google business card and add your exchange to the CryptoNavigator service to increase your online visibility.
What if I don't have an office?
You don't need to have office – you can operate as a mobile exchange, meeting customers in convenient locations.
Can I run a cryptocurrency exchange as a side business?
Yes, you can run a cryptocurrency exchange as a side business – e.g. as part of a currency exchange, shop or other service point.
Important: According to regulations, one person cannot simultaneously run a currency exchange as a sole trader and operate as a Kanga Local. Combining these two roles is only possible if the currency exchange is run as a limited liability company, limited partnership or joint-stock company.
Do I need to be registered in the virtual currency register?
In the agency model, registration is not required. If you are already registered, we can cooperate in the partnership model.
Who is responsible for AML issues?
It depends on the cooperation model. In the agency model, the AML Officer appointed at the exchange office is responsible for collecting and transmitting data, but Kanga is responsible for the final reporting. In the partnership model, however, the exchange office is fully responsible for reporting transactions in accordance with AML procedures.
